Yorktown Police Put A Spin On A Recent 'Crash'

The department took to Facebook to tell a real-life story and tell a cautionary tale.

YORKTOWN, NY — Social media can be vexing — at best at times — but other times it can bring out something wonderful and a little weird. Take for example a post Friday on Facebook from the Yorktown Police Department.

The YPD decided to write about the "Arrest.........Of............The Week…………" (all the dots belong to the YPD).

It seems that one particular fellow on Tuesday — nicknamed "Crash" — had a little too much of what police said was definitely not Poland Springs — think alcohol — and decided to get in his car and leave a gas station and go onto Saw Mill River Road.

"Crash" lived up to his name, the YPD said.

He hit another car and left the scene.

And people in Yorktown helped out, calling to let officers know where "Crash" was and was headed.

As the YPD said in its Facebook post, "Help us to help you."

This reporter can't do the posting justice, so suffice to say read the embedded Facebook entry from the Yorktown police and see another side of your hometown police department.
