Fernandez was also driving while her license was revoked due to a previous refusal to submit to a chemical test. Additionally, she had no insurance and the car's registration had been suspended.

When the officer advised her she was under arrest, he said Fernandez locked herself in her car in an attempt to prevent being arrested.

Police officers were able to get into her car and she was arrested.

Fernandez was taken to the Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing after which she was issued an appearance ticket and released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party.

She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 3.
