Yorktown Woman Accused Of Having Heroin, Driving Without License
Officers had received a report of a vehicle being operated erratically.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman was accused of having illegal drugs and driving while her license was suspended. Yorktown police said Erica N. Russell, 33, of Yorktown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
Police said, about 6 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a vehicle being operated erratically on Commerce Street.
An investigation led to an officer conducting a traffic stop in the parking lot of 240 Underhill Avenue.

Russell was identified as the driver and, police said, she was driving her car while her New York driver's license was suspended.
Police also said she was in possession of heroin.

Russell was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. She was issued an appearance ticket and released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Oct. 1.
