Yorktown Woman Accused Of Having Unlicensed Dog

Police received a complaint of a possible dog bite in May which led to an investigation.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights woman has been accused of having an unlicensed dog. Yorktown police said Malvina Lumi, 28, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with unlicensed dog, a violation of the state Agriculture and Markets Law.

Police said, around 5:15 p.m. May 10, a Yorktown resident came into police headquarters to report a possible dog bite.

The person said the incident occurred while walking along the jack A DeVito Memorial Park track.

An animal control officer investigated and found that a gray-colored pit bull dog, owned by Lumi was unlicensed at the time.

She voluntarily appeared at police headquarters June 6 at which time she was served with a criminal summons.

Lumi was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Justice Court June 20.
