Yorktown Woman Faces Charges After Leaving Accident Scene
Police said she was driving while intoxicated.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman faces several charges in the wake of an automobile accident. Yorktown police said Irene Gribbon, 39, of Sunny Ridge Road in Yorktown Heights, was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and fourth-degree attempted criminal mischief, misdemeanors, and leaving the scene of a property auto accident and refusal to take breath test, traffic infractions.
Police were sent to Crompond Road around 4:11 p.m. April 26 to investigate someone leaving the scene of an accident.
Officers found that one of the involved drivers lived on Sunny Ridge Road. They went to that location and said they saw one of the vehicles from the accident and stopped the driver.

Police said Gribbon, the driver, was intoxicated and refused to take a breath test.
Also while trying to place her under arrest, she resisted and was later put in the rear of a patrol vehicle, where she caused minor damage to the vehicle while being taken to police headquarters, police said.

Gribbon was processed and arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court.
She was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections after being unable to post $15,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
Gribbon is next set to appear in court May 3.
