• Male inmate dies while in custody in Davie County (myfox8.com) — An Advance resident, 41-year-old Joseph Colin Sparks, died Friday morning after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Davie County Detention Center. State investigators and the district attorney’s office are reviewing the case, and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death while the sheriff’s office offers condolences to his family.
