NOAH RINKER It’s place and perspective that drive 23-year-old musician Noah Rinker’s sound. It propels his lyricism and informs his entire point of view. Growing up in the mountains of California, he found song wherever he could. He picked up the guitar at 14, learning to play it like a lap steel because he assumed the fretboard might work the same way a keyboard did. At 16, he wrote his first song. But it was “leaving for sessions with other collaborators that made me realize that home was the thing that made me who I was all along.” You see that connection between song and soul in his videos: Noah, a guitar, and the place he grew up. Sometimes you’ll see the mountains sprawled out behind him as he plays; other times, he’s cloaked in darkness, only lit by a crackling campfire. There are covers mixed in with originals; snippets of works-in-progress tossed in, paired with months-in-the-making singles he’s on the cusp of releasing. The music is real, it’s raw, and it’s Noah Rinker distilled and at his truest essence. Songs like “Save My Soul” and “Wherever I Go” and “99” introduce the world to a storyteller doing what he does best—digging deep, baring his soul, and laying it out on the page for just a few minutes of honest connection.View Tickets & More Info

– LIMITED PATIO SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE HILLSIDE RAMBLERS
The Hillside Ramblers are a multi-generational folk trio from Asheville, NC, who first met as neighbors. They craft a combination of voices and instruments rooted in New England folk, Appalachian bluegrass, and traditional jazz. Deborah Silverstein spent decades as an award-winning singer-songwriter on the Boston folk scene, writing and performing original songs that linger with the audience long after the show ends. Her songs engage honestly with the full spectrum of the human experience, inviting listeners to feel the highs and lows in equal measure. Chris Cotteta delivers vocals and plays lead guitar with an energy that moves freely between country, folk, and jazz. He adds the same thoughtful touches to songs written a hundred years ago as to ones written yesterday. Maria Raiti plays upright bass and soulfully sings covers and originals. She also leads the prominent local bluegrass/Americana band, Asheville Junction. Together they blend their eclectic backgrounds and styles into a sound tapestry of musical harmony and storytelling that feels all at once fascinating, fresh, and as familiar as your front porch.View Tickets & More Info

LUNA Luna was a New York band formed in 1991 by singer/guitarist Dean Wareham after the breakup of Galaxie 500. The band made seven studio albums before disbanding in 2005. After a ten-year break, they reunited and toured in 2015, and in 2017 released a new LP — A Sentimental Education and an EP of instrumentals — A Place of Greater Safety.
Other recent reissues include a deluxe 2xLP version of their classic Penthouse album (on Rhino) and another 2xLP set Lunafied that collects all the covers the band recorded in the 1990s.
Now scattered around the country (Los Angeles, New York and Austin) the band retains the same lineup that operated from 1999 to 2005: Dean Wareham on vocals/guitar, his wife Britta Phillips on bass, Sean Eden on guitar, and Lee Wall on drums.
A Luna Timeline:
1992. Dean Wareham recruits Justin Harwood (ex-Chills) on bass and Stanley Demeski (ex-Feelies) on drums to record Lunapark for Elektra Records. After completing the album, the band places an ad in the Village Voice and thus adds Sean Eden on guitar. Eden, who is Canadian by birth and a trained actor, plays lead guitar on the excellent Indian Summer EP (aka the Slide EP).
1993. The band records their second album, Bewitched, featuring “California,” “Tiger Lily” and “Friendly Advice.”
1995 Luna’s classic third album, Penthouse (1995) is recorded in New York City, featuring guests Tom Verlaine (Television) and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab). The band signs to Beggar’s Banquet in Europe. Rolling Stone calls it “one of the essential recordings of the ‘90s”
1997 Lee Wall replaces the travel-weary Stanley Demeski on drums, and the band records Pup Tent, their fourth album for Elektra.
1998 Luna recorded their fifth album The Days of Our Nights.
1999 Justin Harwood moves back to his home country (New Zealand), and is replaced on bass by Britta Phillips.
2000 finding themselves between contracts, the band quickly records a live album — Luna Live! for the Arena Rock label.
2002 the band sign to Jetset Records, record Romantica, co-produced by Gene Holder (DB’s) and Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev). Romantica was followed by the mini-LP Close Cover Before Striking.
2004 Luna record their Rendezvous album in Brooklyn, NY. Produced by Bryce Goggin with minimal overdubs, it captures the band more-or-less live.
2005 After a farewell tour, on February 28 the band play their last show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.
2015 After ten years away, the band announces a commemorative world tour. The lineup is the exact ’99-’05 group: Dean Wareham and Sean Eden on guitar, Lee Wall on drums, and Britta Phillips (now married to Mr Wareham) on bass.

PAUL THORN When it comes to songwriting, less is more, and simplicity is strength. Just ask Paul Thorn, who’s spent three decades turning soulful grooves and small syllables into songs that pack a big wallop. Maybe he learned the power of minimalism from his years as a pro boxer; maybe it just comes naturally. But whether he’s targeting heads, hearts, hips or the occasional funny bone, he somehow manages to condense large nuggets of wisdom into tight little mantras, the kind embroiderers stitched onto pillows before internet memes existed. Thorn’s new album, Life is Just A Vapor, contains some beauties: “Life is a vapor, let’s live it while we can”; “tough times don’t last, but tough people do” (from “Tough Times Don’t Last”); “any mountain up ahead is just a hill” (from “Old Melodies”). They’re words of advice, comfort, support, encouragement, often meant to uplift, especially in times of struggle.
“I like for people to be touched by music and get something from it, something that they can take with them throughout the day,” Thorn says. “Every song on this album, there’s a message in it of some sort about how to live life.”
American Blues Scene writer Don Wilcock calls Thorn “an everyman (who) addresses things we all think about, but few can articulate with the kind of candor, humor and folksy truth that immediately endear him to almost everyone lucky enough to hear his music.”
Whether he’s expressing love in “I Knew,” warning an ex’s new conquest about the dangers ahead in “She Will,” extolling the value of holding off on sex in “Wait” or listing the ingredients for making a marriage work in “Courage My Love” (“a half-acre on your daddy’s land / and a little luck / a load of white gravel in our driveway / so we don’t get stuck in a rut /a 3-horsepower lawnmower and courage my love”), Thorn delivers his messages with consummate skill — and pinpoint precision. One minute, he’ll unwind an outrageous tale full of wild characters (often accompanied by his own cartoonish illustrations); the next, he’ll tug at heartstrings with confessions of love, loss or failed dreams, balancing wit and pathos with an ease only the best storytellers can pull off. One of Thorn’s favorites was his friend and mentor John Prine, who inspired the title tune.View Tickets & More Info

SHINYRIBS Shinyribs reassembles the American song bag like a picker in a junkyard; Texas singer-songwriter, East Tx blues, Louisiana swamp n’ rhythm, honky tonk, Oklahoma swing, Golden-Triangle Cajun, and Arkansas jazz are all filtered through the singular vision of Kevin Russell, one of Austin’s most celebrated and criminally underrated singer-songwriters. The Austin-based supergroup has entered a bold new chapter with the small baller “Shortribs” configuration — a tightly arranged powerhouse built to showcase what has always been at the heart of the Shinyribs experience: Russell’s legendary songwriting chops, his iconic voice, and the infamous hi-jinks of the self-proclaimed world’s oldest living male exotic dancer. Hip shaking, booty twerking, arm flapping, high kicking and karate chopping good times are guaranteed to send you home with aching cheeks and tear-stained laughter.
At the rhythmic core is Keith Langford on drums — Russell’s musical partner of 30 years, a bond forged in the crucible of legendary, The Gourds— and as essential to the Shinyribs sound as the backbeat itself. Mason Hankamer holds down the low end on bass, pulling double duty as co-producer of the last 3 Ribs platters and musical director, tightening the arrangements and the show into something leaner and more purposeful than ever. The Delta Dawns — both hailing from the famous Memphis/Mississippi alluvial plain — have been elevated to a full dynamic singing sisterhood: Kellee Broadway, who doubles on percussion, and Schaefer Llana, who shakes the chandeliers and plays some guitar too.
Eric Baker, a rising star in the Austin scene, frisks the pianoforte like a long-lost Leon Russell. Rounding out the band — and perhaps its most exciting new voice — is lead guitarist and pedal steel wizard Cat Clemons.
Russell himself says it best: “Clemons, beyond just notes and licks galore, possesses the ability to communicate psychically with audiences. It’s really a feat to be experienced. More than just being able to say you were there, one will be able to try and describe their experience.”
A Shinyribs show these days runs the gamut — from tongue-in-cheek winks and nudges to poignant stories of family, loss, grief, and love. The poetic joy joins the musical melancholy like a rainbow over the swamp. Above and below, a human collaboration of deep knowledge and soul, expressed with a grace and groove unlike anything else.
Shinyribs has been nominated and won a slew of awards and honors, but you will be the one going home with that Shiny trophy feeling. We are so excited you get to see Shinyribs soon. Lucky you! If you’ve never heard of Shinyribs, that’s a good thing. Now you’ve got something to look forward to. Let’s try and keep this a secret. STANDING ROOM ONLY FRUITION For nearly two decades, Fruition have built their genre-bending version of American roots music around harmony — not just the vocal interplay of the band’s three songwriters, but the deeper harmony created between five friends who’ve spent years on the road together. On their eighth album, Something More, those bonds grow into something more collaborative than ever before.
Produced by Grammy winner Tucker Martine, Something More finds Fruition stepping into an era defined as much by exploration as craft. Fueled by melody-driven songwriting, analog tones, and atmospheric textures, the album expands the band’s melting pot of rock, folk, pop, soul, and Americana into something more expansive and fully realized.
Much of the songwriting emerged from collaborative sessions between Jay Cobb Anderson, Kellen Asebroek, and Mimi Naja, adding a shared perspective to songs rooted in reflection, uncertainty, acceptance, and growth. “This record is us trusting each other more than we ever have — as humans and as musicians,” says Anderson. “It’s the sound of us leaning into each other.”
From the street corners of the Pacific Northwest to stages like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Great American Music Hall, Fruition have grown their career night by night and song by song. Something More feels like the next chapter: a collection of lessons absorbed, trust deepened, and a band fully embracing what they’ve become.View Tickets & More Info
