• NCDOT strengthens roads and bridges resiliency to prepare for future storms (wwaytv3.com) — A recently completed NCDOT project raised and replaced the bridge over the Calabash River in Brunswick County, aiming to reduce flooding risks seen during Hurricanes Matthew and Ian. That work is part of a broader statewide push to make roads and bridges more resilient, including a major I-95 bridge-raising project in Lumberton scheduled through 2029 as storms grow stronger and more frequent.
