$10K Reward Offered In Charlotte Murder Cold Case
Eight years ago, JaRon McGill was murdered. CMPD and his family are now hoping a $10,000 reward will help solve the cold case.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Eight years ago, JaRon McGill, 19, was killed while walking home from his girlfriend’s house. Thursday, his family say they hope a $10,000 reward will help find the people responsible for his death.
McGill’s family met with members of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Aug. 3 to mark the eight-year anniversary of his murder. McGill was fatally shot Aug. 2, 2009 near the corner of Lanecrest Drive and Colby Place in Charlotte as he walked home from his girlfriend’s house around 11:30 p.m.
“JaRon's dad says his prayer is no other family goes through what they have. ‘If it were your child, you'd want answers,’” CMPD tweeted Thursday.

Witnesses told CMPD at the time that a light colored Toyota Corolla with three black men was parked near the intersection. The witnesses said they heard gunshots and saw McGill running down Colby Place as the possible suspect’s car drove away on Milton Road.
