CHARLOTTE, NC — There are two cases of presumptive positive novel coronavirus in Mecklenburg County, county health officials announced Thursday.

One case is a result of international travel, and the other possibly related to out-of-state travel, WSOC said. Both people are ill, but not severely so, and are in self-quarantine in their homes, Harris said.
The news of the new cases comes just hours after state public health officials reported that the statewide total had grown to 12, underscoring the fluidity of events.

State officials warned earlier this week that they expect to see a dramatic increase in the number of cases in North Carolina.
"I know there are other results coming," Cooper said Thursday morning. "This epidemic is going to get worse before it gets better, we all know that."
