Center City Partners and city leaders say the temporary curfew has reduced crime, but they're now weighing a 2 a.m. closing time to balance safety with protecting small businesses.
   

4. Curfews, Toll Lanes, and Community Pushback City of Charlotte (opgov.news) — Charlotte City Council is weighing a 9 p.m. youth curfew and the $4 billion I-77 South toll lane project, drawing sharp pushback from residents worried about policing, neighborhood impacts, and transit priorities. Council also tightened sidewalk parking rules, closed portions of two streets, and approved funding for youth diversion programs, signaling significant changes for daily life across the city.
