22 Violations Found At This Eatery, Including Cockroach Droppings
An inspection at one Indian restaurant in Charlotte found 22 health code violations, including dead roaches in the kitchen.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte-area restaurant kitchen saw its health ratings drop to a "C" after inspectors found 22 health code violations in a range of infractions from roaches and flies in the kitchen to dirty kitchen equipment, according to a recent report by county health officials.

The lowest health inspection ratings for a recently inspected Charlotte-area restaurant was given to Pudina, located at 128 Brevard Court in Charlotte, which earned a 74.5/C.

An inspection at Pudina found 22 health code violations, according to a North Carolina Public Health Inspection report. Among the things spotted in the kitchen were cigarettes sitting above a food prep area, fruit flies in a bag of onions, dead cockroaches behind the dishwasher and prepared food passing through to the dining room coming in contact with a cloth “with excessive food debris on it.” Inside of coolers and the microwave had food build-up and, according to the report, the inspector “observed walls with cockroach droppings throughout kitchen.”
