Charlotte Elementary Teacher Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Students: CMPD
A teacher at Billingsville Elementary School in Charlotte was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual assaulting two students, CMPD said.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A teacher at Billingsville Elementary School in Charlotte was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual assaulting two boys during a summer mentoring program, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Aug. 8.
Taji Brown, 29, was arrested after a parent of a 10-year-old boy told police the fifth-grade teacher touched the boy inappropriately during a sleepover for a summer mentoring program.
Brown operated the “G.U.D.B.O.Y.S.” -- or Gentleman Understanding Destiny By Overcoming Your Statistics -- program out of his home in the 9200 block of Pebble Creek Way in Charlotte, according to CMPD. “Several males spent the night at Brown’s residence while enrolled in the program,” CMPD said in a statement, adding that it was during a sleepover that two victims said inappropriate touching occurred.
CMPD said that in addition to victim statements, additional evidence was found after detectives executed a search warrant of Brown’s home, which prompted his arrest.

Brown has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a student, and is currently being held at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
