Charlotte Man Convicted To 10 Years In Federal Child Porn Case

Clarence Robert Brown, Jr., 61, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Monday after already serving five years for child porn.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 61-year-old Charlotte man has been sentenced to spend the next 10 years behind bars for possessing child pornography, according the U.S. Attorney's Office Western District of North Carolina.

Clarence Robert Brown, Jr. was also sentenced to 20 years to supervised release.

In September of last year, Brown pled guilty to possessing the pornography on his computer while he was on supervised release from a 2005 federal conviction for possessing and transporting child pornography. He served five years in prison for that conviction, which also prohibited him from owning a computer or internet hub.

“This is Brown’s second federal conviction for possessing sexually explicit material depicting minors,” U.S. Attorney R. Andrew Murray said Feb. 26 in a statement. “The online exploitation of children is a serious crime and the 10-year prison term imposed by the Court reflects that. The lengthy sentence also ensures that Brown can no longer harm and victimize innocent children.”
