Charlotte Rated A Top Ugly City By Travel And Leisure Magazine

CHARLOTTE, NC -- People in Charlotte are ugly, and quantifiably so, according to Travel and Leisure Magazine readers. In a survey that is sure to prompt much teeth sucking and pearl clutching throughout the region that prides itself on artistic, hip chic, the magazine has just pulled a mean girl and brought us back down to earth.

The magazine published its list of America’s Least Attractive Cities this week, and the Queen City came in No. 4.

“Readers appreciate Charlotte, North Carolina for its cleanliness,” the magazine said. “The pristine city is a banking mecca, and its central Uptown district is home to multiple Fortune 500 companies. Employees at Bank of America and Wells Fargo may work long hours, but they also like to stay active, playing tennis in Freedom Park or hiking in the surrounding Piedmont region.”

This all sounds ok, right? Well, wait for it...

“Somehow that didn’t boost their attractive score.”

Bless their hearts, they do know how to rev up a back handed compliment. If its any consolation, Charlotte was not alone in the listing.

2. Sacramento, California
3. Spokane, Washington
4. Charlotte, North Carolina
5. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
6. Cleveland, Ohio
7. Tampa, Florida

9. Memphis, Tennessee
