CMS To Provide School Meals During Closures: List Of Sites

CHARLOTTE, NC — Following a decision to close all North Carolina schools in an attempt to slow the spread of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Charlotte metro area students will be able to access school meals during the day, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools announced Monday.

Students will be able to pick up “grab and go meals” in their school’s parking lot, CMS said.

“Lunch (and breakfast for the next day) will be served in participating school’s parking lots. Meals are free for anyone 18-years old and under. Children must be present to receive meals,” CMS said. “Meals will be distributed Monday — Friday beginning Tuesday, March 17 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.”
