RALEIGH, NC — Gov. Roy Cooper on Saturday ordered all K-12 North Carolina schools to close for at least two weeks amid ongoing concerns about the spread of the new coronavirus. The decision came after a Wake County teacher tested positive for coronavirus, officially called COVID-19, WBTV reported.

Cooper also issued an executive order banning mass gatherings of more than 100 people throughout the state, according to reports.

Cooper said school closures will start Monday and remain in effect until at least March 30.
