Gun Found At East Charlotte High School: Report
A student brought a gun to East Charlotte High School Tuesday, the same day another high school was on a lockdown, according to reports.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police have taken an East Charlotte High School student into custody after a gun was found on campus, according to a report by WSOC.
The incident comes the same day as a gun scare on a school campus led to another Charlotte high school to go into lockdown after a threat was made against the school in a social media post, and two weeks after a student was fatally shot at another area high school.
Jatwan Craig Cuffie, 16, pulled out a handgun in the crowded hallway of Butler High School in Matthews shortly after 7 a.m. Oct. 29, and fatally shot Bobby McKeithen, 16, with a stolen handgun.
