Mother, Boyfriend Charged After Baby Dies At Area Hospital
A mother and her live-in boyfriend were charged in the death of a one-year-old baby Tuesday, police said.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A mother and her boyfriend were charged in the death of a one-year-old baby Tuesday after the child died at an area hospital. The death, say police, was the result of child abuse.
The baby was found in need of medical attention while at a Best Western hotel, located at 242 East Woodlawn Road and rushed to the hospital shortly before 11 a.m. July 30. There, the child, who has not been identified by authorities, was pronounced dead, police said.

By Tuesday evening, police had made two arrests in the baby’s death. Yasmine Danielle Richardson, 24, was charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury.
Daquan Harmon McFadden, 23, was charged with murder and felony child abuse inflicting serious injury. According to police, McFadden lived with Richardson and the child.

CMPD said that anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
