A North Carolina KFC restaurant was leveled to the ground in Eden early Thursday in a powerful explosion that was caught on camera.

According to authorities, the Rockingham County fast food restaurant exploded around 12:30 a.m. July 11. No injuries were reported and an investigation, which includes the use of drones to survey the blast zone, is underway, Spectrum reported.

An employee of the restaurant told WXII that the explosion occurred hours after workers had cleaned up for the night. He said he left work with a headache and nauseous from smelling gas.

A report by WWSB said that after smelling gas, the restaurant manager had attempted to cut it off and had placed a call to the gas company.

Video from Eden Drugs across the street showed the moment the building was engulfed in the flash of the explosion, sending debris raining to the ground.
