Publix, Food Lion, Walmart: Which Grocers Are Open On July 4?

CHARLOTTE, NC — If you’re planning to grill out Thursday's for July 4th but suddenly realize you don’t have charcoal or buns, don’t sweat it. A number of North Carolina grocery stores will be open for at least part of the July 4 holiday while others will be operating on a regular schedule.

Patch checked with Publix, Target, Walmart, Walgreens and other big retailers to find out which stores will be operating on a holiday schedule for July 4.

• Publix — operating on normal business hours on July 4th
• Food Lion — operating on normal business hours on July 4th
• Lowes Foods — operating on normal business hours on July 4th
• Walgreens — operating on normal business hours on July 4th, though select pharmacies will be open at reduced hours. Hours may vary by location.
• Target stores— operating on normal business hours on July 4th
• Walmart — operating on normal business hours on July 4th
• Costco stores — Closed on Independence Day.
• BJs — open until 7 p.m. on the holiday but the optical department will be closed all day.
• The Fresh Market — operating on normal business hours on July 4th
