Two Students Charged In Making Bomb Threat Against School: CMPD
Charlotte police have charged a 14-year-old and a 15-year old in connection to a bomb threat at Hawthorne Academy.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Two students at Hawthorne Academy have been charged in making bomb threats at their school, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Wednesday.
The 14-year-old and 15-year-old students communicated the bomb threats early March 21, according to a CMPD report. The School Resource Officer and staff of the school located at 1411 Hawthorne Lane interviewed and searched the students, and no devices or weapons were found.
They were each charged with one count of communicating threats and were released into the custody of their parents, CMPD said.
“The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Police Department take threats of violence towards students and staff very seriously and thoroughly investigate each reported incident,” CMPD said in a statement.
