Where’s Hilton The Shark? Follow His North Carolina Shore Journey
A nearly 13-foot long great white shark named Hilton has been tracked about 30 miles off the N.C. coast. Here's how you can track him.
CHARLOTTE, NC -- The coast of the Carolinas is an inviting attraction in the summertime, apparently especially if you’re a 1,326-pound great white shark named Hilton.
The 12-foot-long shark, who was caught and tagged by OCEARCH March 3 off the coast of Hilton Head, S.C., was named after the community. He is tagged with a fin transmitter that, when he breaks the surface, relays his location, the AP reported.
On the morning of July 18, he was tracked about 30 miles east of Nags Head, N.C. Before that, on Friday, July 14, he was tracked about 20 miles southeast of Bald Island, N.C.

Since his tagging, Hilton has logged more than 3,100 miles, with almost 120 miles of travel in a single day.
