CORNELIUS, NC — From a craft beer festival, to fireworks in the park there are plenty of fun events happening around Lake Norman this weekend. If you're looking for something to do, Patch has you covered.

Lake Norman, along with the rest of the piedmont of North Carolina, can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning Thursday afternoon, and throughout the days ahead when daily highs will stay above 90 degrees. The chance of rain continues Friday, into Saturday morning. Sunday will be sunny and hot, with a high of 95, though more rain could become possible in the evening.   • Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's "Celebrate America” — Annual July 4th celebrations kick off early in Cornelius' Bailey Road Park on Saturday with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's performance of "Celebrate America," followed by fireworks. Saturday, June 23. 6 p.m. Bailey Road Park, 11536 Bailey Road, Cornelius.
