8 Arrests In Cornelius, 5 Vehicle Break-Ins Reported: CPD Blotter

Eight arrests were made in Cornelius last week, for charges ranging from possession of marijuana to resisting a public officer.

CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police made eight arrests last week, for charges ranging from possession of marijuana to resisting a public officer, according to the most recent police blotter.

There were also five reported cases of vehicle break-ins and one home break-in on Doe Valley Court reported to police.

Three of those arrested face multiple charges, according to police records.

John Partrick Slater, 20, was arrested Sept. 7 at the Food Lion shopping center located at 20125 North Main Street in Cornelius, and charged with second degree trespassing and resisting an officer.

According to police reports, David Jordan Meyer, 28, was arrested Sept. 8 and charged with six crimes that included failing to wear a seat belt, having a fake or altered registration card/tag, no operators license, operating a vehicle with no insurance, speeding and using a foreign license while driving with a revoked license.

Zachary Marshall Richardson, 19, was arrested Sept. 10 and charged with four counts of drug possession and speeding.

CPD issued 77 citations last week, including 11 for failure to stop for a stop sign or red light,
14 for speed-related offenses, eight for failure to wear a seat belt,and five for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
