Channel Marker Not Working Properly On Lake Norman: CPD
The D-4 channel marker located in open water near the sandbar is flickering on and off, Cornelius Police Department said.

CORNELIUS, NC — Lake Norman boaters should use caution, Cornelius Police said, after a channel marker in open water was found to be in need of repair.
“While our Lake Patrol Officers were completing regular patrols, one officer noticed that Channel Marker D-4's light is not functioning properly,” CPD said Dec. 31. “The light will flicker on and off, then it will stay off for a bit and continues with this same pattern. The D-4 Channel Marker is located on the Main Channel side of the Sandbar, out in a lot of open water. Please use caution when in this area and especially at night until the light has been repaired.”
The Lake Norman Marine Commission has been notified, CPD said.
