Cocaine Trafficking, Concealed Gun Arrest Made In Cornelius

CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police have charged a 36-year-old man with a list of drug-related offenses, including trafficking cocaine, the police department said Wednesday.

According to CPD's arrest blotter, Damion Lamont Forney was arrested Feb. 14 in the 20000 block of West Catawba Avenue. In addition to trafficking cocaine, he was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute and carrying a concealed weapon. His arrest was one of nine made in Cornelius last week.

Last week, 13 incidents were reported, including two vehicle break-ins, four larcenies, three cases of fraud and one home burglary, CPD said.

Cornelius officers issued 63 citations last week, 15 of which were for speeding-related offenses. Three people were cited for unsafe passing with a yellow line and improper passing. Seven people were cited for underage drinking on Feb. 17 in the 20400 block of Staghorn Court.
