Cornelius: Bag Leaves To Ensure Regular Collection
It's that time of year when leaves are raining down. Here's what Cornelius officials say to do to ensure they get collected.

CORNELIUS, NC -- The upcoming weekend and the continuous creep into fall likely means you might have a date with a rake on your calendar soon. What are you supposed to do with all those leaves? If you live in Cornelius, town officials say you should bag them up in clear bags to ensure prompt pick up.
Up to 20 bags of leaves can be collected with regular weekly trash and recycling collection, the town says. Clear bags may be tied, but opaque bags should be left open.
If you’re not into bagging up leaves, there is another option, according to town officials. Next week, Cornelius will start leaf machine operations throughout the community. The town has three machines that operate from early November through mid-February. However, there is no set schedule for leaf machine operations, which means pick up could stretch as long as three weeks during peak leaf season
