Cornelius Police Arrest Man For Drug Possession, Carrying Gun
Cornelius Police Department recently made eight arrests, including one man charged with felony possession of drugs.

CORNELIUS, NC — The Cornelius Police Department made 8 arrests recently including two arrests for driving while impaired or intoxication and charges stemming from inhaling toxic vapors. Officers also issued 38 citations, according to the most recent police blotter.
Police are also actively investigating three home breaking and enterings, seven cases of reported fraud and five cases of larceny, including a report of larceny at McDonalds on Torrence Chapel Road.
William Lee Hawblitz, 31, was arrested April 3 and charged with warrant for arrest, carrying a concealed firearm, as well as possession of drugs. Amanda Cathleen Powers, 31, was arrested March 28 and charged with possessing and inhaling toxic vapors.

During the reporting period between March 28 - April 3, 2018, CPD also issued 16 speeding tickets, 2 tickets to for not wearing a seatbelt, 3 citations for expired registration and three citations for driving with a revoked license.
