Cornelius Police Arrest Multiple Drivers For DWI
Cornelius Police Department recently made 13 arrests, including one man charged with felony hit and run.
CORNELIUS, NC — The Cornelius Police Department made 13 arrests last week including four arrests for driving while impaired or intoxication and three charges stemming from driving with a revoked license. Officers also issued 97 citations, according to the most recent police blotter.
Police are also actively investigating a report of breaking and entering at Old Mecklenburg Brewery on Zion Avenue and larceny at U-haul and Suds and Shine — both located on Old Statesville Road.
John Eric Stamey, 32, was arrested March 24 and charged driving with a revoked license, reckless driving and resisting a public officer. Deric Alan Tanski, 28, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated and disruptive.

During the reporting period between March 21 - March 28, CPD also issued 26 speeding tickets, 16 tickets to drivers not wearing a seatbelt, 10 citations for expired registration and five citations for driving with a revoked license.
