Cornelius Police Blotter: Drunk Driving, Speeding

More than half of Cornelius Police Department's arrests this week involved this particular crime.

CORNELIUS, NC -- The Cornelius Police Department made a dozen arrests last week, including one man who ended up in handcuffs on two separate occasions while drunk. He was not alone. Intoxication was the primary charge for more than half of the arrests, with other charges including possession of stolen goods and hit-and-run with a failure to stop.

Ricky Dale Sundgren, 47, was arrested Oct. 11 when he was charged with being intoxicated and disruptive. Sundgren was in handcuffs again days later on Oct. 15 when he was arrested for driving while impaired. Five others were arrested for the same charge last week.

CPD also issued 23 speeding tickets last week and took eight incident reports of theft, for crimes ranging from larceny to breaking and entering.
