Two suspects now face a list of charges after following a victim to the police department and then fleeing from officers.

CORNELIUS, NC — Two people were taken into custody this week and face a list of charges after they fled from police in Cornelius, leading officers on a circuitous chase through Davidson before driving into South Carolina. The pair were eventually apprehended in Charlotte, Cornelius Police Department said.

The April 22 incident began shortly before 5 p.m., when CPD received a call from a victim saying that a suspicious vehicle had followed them from the Rosedale Shopping Center in Huntersville.

The victim drove to the Cornelius Police Department and, along with the suspect vehicle, parked in front of the building. When officers responded to the vehicles to speak with both drivers, however, the suspect vehicle drove off, "nearly striking a Cornelius officer," CPD said in a statement.
