Here’s When You Can Get Old Documents Shredded In Cornelius
Get rid of those stacks of old personal documents at the shredding event March 21 at Cornelius Town Hall.
CORNELIUS, NC — If you could use a head start on spring cleaning or just want to protect yourself from potential identity theft, Cornelius residents will soon have an opportunity to safely purge old personal documents. The town is offering free document shredding Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Residents will be able to shred up to four boxes or bags at the event, which is sponsored by the Cornelius Police Department, Shred-It and Truliant Federal Credit Union at Cornelius Town Hall. Organizers of the event ask that participants not bring items that could be recycled, such as junk mail, newspapers or magazines.

The Document Shredding Event is FREE to the community. Due to heavy volume, Truliant & Shred-it may end the event prior to 12:00 p.m. due to truck capacity, equipment failure, bad weather or any other unforeseen event.
There will be a 4 box maximum per resident or business. Boxes are to not exceed a normal file box size. The public is encouraged to bring documents such as obsolete tax documents, financial statements, cancelled checks, insurance documents, business records or any records that they want safely destroyed to this event. There is no need to remove clips, staples, or binders from these documents.
