Heroin Possession, DWI, Larceny Arrests Made In Cornelius

Police arrested five people last week, with charges ranging from violation of a domestic violence protective order to resisting an officer.

CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police charged a 28 year-old woman with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, marking one of five arrests last week, according to the police blotter.

Brittany Renee Benfield, 28, was arrested on the drug charges March 9 at 20740 Torrence Chapel Road, CPD said.

Robert Clayton Hendrix, 48, was arrested March 8 at 19932 Scanmar Lane, charged with a domestic violence protective order violation. Paul Grice Renckens, 29, was arrested March 9 at 19723 West Catawba Avenue, charged with injury to real property, intoxicated and disruptive and resisting a public officer.

Last week, 12 incidents were reported, the majority of which were vehicle break-ins. On March 7, a vehicle larceny and two vehicle break-ins were reported in the 17000 block of Harbor Walk Drive. Other break-ins were reported on Liverpool Parkway, Davidson Street and Lake Pines Drive.

Cornelius officers issued 28 citations last week, five of which were for expired tags and eight for speeding related offenses.
