Man Charged With Child Sex Assault In Cornelius: Police

CORNELIUS, NC — A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with numerous child sexual assault crimes, according to Cornelius Police.

Spencr Denard Rickerson, 32, of Claremont, North Carolina was arrested Nov. 27 in Cornelius and charged with two felony counts of indencent liberties with a child, and statutory rape of a child older than six years old and statutory rape of a child under 15 years of age.

Rickerson’s arrest was one of five made in the last week in Cornelius, according to police records.

Jared Keith Willman, 26, was arrested Nov. 27 and charged with breaking into a motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen goods and resisting an officer.

Other arrests were for charges including simple assault, identity theft and drug possession.

Three vehicle break-ins and one residential break-in were also reported last week, CPD said..

CPD issued 29 citations this past week, including seven for speed-related offenses, four for expired registration card/tag and three for failing to stop for a stop sign or flashing red light.
