Report Of Break-In, Assault Prompts Police Search In Cornelius
A police search was launched in Cornelius after a report a man in a hoodie broke into a home and assaulted a victim, CPD said.

CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police launched a manhunt and investigation Tuesday following a report that a man broke into a home and assaulted a victim inside it, Cornelius Police Department said.
The incident occurred in the 18800 block of Cloverstone Circle shortly before 11 a.m., CPD said. The suspect, who was described as a man in his 20's and wearing a black hoodie and brown shoes, entered a woman's home through an unlocked front door. He then attacked the victim and fled on foot.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries, CPD said.

Officers canvassed the area, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department deployed a helicopter over the scene to search for the suspect.
Police are asking that residents in the neighborhood with video doorbell cameras or exterior cameras contact the police department at 704-892-7773.
