Cornelius police made four arrests last week, for charges ranging from assault by strangulation to larceny.
CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police made four arrests last week, for charges ranging from assault by strangulation and resisting an officer to driving while under the influence, according to the most recent police blotter. There were 17 cases of vehicle break-ins reported to police.
According to police reports, Marquell Tremaine Folston, 24, was arrested August 2 and charged with assault by strangulation. Two days later, Sheila Marie Sanchez-Valentin, 29, was arrested on the same charge as well as communicating threats, false imprisonment, interfering with emergency communications and resisting a public officer.
CPD issued 38 citations last week, including 10 for expired vehicle registration, seven for failing to stop at a stop light, and three for failing to wear a seatbelt.
