23 Drivers Nabbed For Speeding In Davidson: DPD

DAVIDSON, NC — Nearly two dozen drivers were nabbed for speeding in Davidson last week, according to the Davidson Police Department.

Two crimes were reported in town during the first week of October. On Oct. 2, a report of false pretenses/communicating threats was made on Catawba Avenue. The next day, police took a report of property damage on Wolfe Street.

Shatiqua Powell-Onque, 23, was arrested Oct. 4 on Concord Road, charged with an order for arrest, DPD said.

Police issued 41 citations for various offenses that do not require a court appearance:

• Speeding — 23
• Expired tag — 7
• Expired inspection — 4
• No insurance — 3
• No operator’s license — 2
• Seatbelt violation — 1
• Fail to register vehicle w/DMV — 1
