The temperature will begin to drop by Thursday, with rain and a high of 49 expected Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

DAVIDSON, NC — Go ahead and pull out the winter coat because you’re likely to need it this weekend. While Wednesday’s skies will be full of sunshine, that will change by late Thursday, as chilly temperatures and rain move into the Lake Norman region in time for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday’s high will reach 56 degrees, with rain likely late in the evening. By Friday, conditions will turn frigid and soggy, with an 80 percent chance of rain and a high of only 49 degrees.

While it should warm up a bit on Saturday, there’s still a chance of rain. Sunday, however, will be partly sunny with a high of 63.
