Davidson Cracks Down On Speeding As Schools Start Back
Davidson Police are cracking down on speeders and cross walk violations. Here's what you need to know.

DAVIDSON, NC -- If you’re planning on driving through Davidson, you better watch your speed and make sure you stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. That’s the message police sent Monday afternoon, announcing they are cracking down on violations as kids return to the classrooms across Mecklenburg County.
“This is timed with the start of school,” Davidson Police Chief Penny Dunn said in a statement Aug. 28. “Remember 25 means 25 and we want everyone to be safe drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. We have seen a recent increase in auto-pedestrian collisions and near-misses while pedestrians were crossing properly in crosswalks.”
