Davidson Farmers Market Set To Reopen In Phases: Details

Davidson Farmers Market will continue with preorder pickups through July 4, with an in-person market set to open July 11.

DAVIDSON, NC — Following a four-month closure, Davidson Farmers Market is set to soon resume in downtown Davidson. The reopening will occur in two phases, market manager Justin Burke-Samson said Wednesday.

Under the plan, all market vendors and shoppers will be asked to wear masks when the event resumes July 11.

"With the support from the Board of Directors, the Town of Davidson, our vendors, and YOU we have been able to raise the needed funds to purchase new equipment and safety materials, redesign the market layout, and implement new features to create more access to local fresh foods and goods while keeping our community safe," Burke-Samson said in a statement.

The initial reopening will include a two-week "Phase I" period on Saturday, June 27 and Saturday, July 4. During this period, customers will only be allowed to pick-up orders made ahead of time from a list of vendors.

"These two weeks are important to our vendors and shoppers because it allows everyone the opportunity to reopen and become comfortable with the new layout and health and safety procedures before our grand reopening July 11," he said. "Think of it as our soft reopen."
