Davidson’s Concerts On The Green: 3 Events Left

DAVIDSON, NC — Summer is winding down, which means soon so too will Davidson’s Concerts on the Green music series. There are three events left in the 2019 free outdoor concert series, which wraps up Sept. 15.

Here are the remaining events, all held on the Town Green on Main Street in downtown Davidson:

• Sunday, Aug. 25 — Gospelfest

• Sunday, Sept. 1 — Chicago Rewired. “Chicago Rewired — the premier Chicago Tribute Band is a tribute to “Chicago” — one of the longest running and most successful pop/rock groups in history with record sales topping 100,000,000 including 21 top 10 singles, 5 consecutice number one albums, 11 number one singles and 5 gold singles,” say organizers. “The band comprises a unique blend of talente and seasoned musicians joining forces with the common goal of accurately replicating the timeless music of “Chicago” — the soundtrack to great memories for so many people!”

• Sunday, Sept. 15 — The Davidson College Symphony & Jazz Ensemble. “The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble of approximately 50 student musicians, all of whom have diverse backgrounds and varying career interests but have a keen passion for music,” organizers said. “With only about 4% of the orchestra being composed of music majors, the orchestra is an excellent place for students to rehearse and perform in a collaborative atmosphere while honing their technical skills and broadening their musical knowledge and experience. The Davidson College Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned “big band” of approximately eighteen musicians. The group rehearses and performs throughout the year, with several events highlighting the schedule.”
