Davidson’s National Night Out 2018: What You Need To Know
On August 7, Davidson will hold its National Night Out event at Roosevelt Wilson Park. Here's what you need to know.

DAVIDSON, NC — Police Departments across the Lake Norman region, including Davidson, will be holding "National Night Out" community events Tuesday, Aug. 7 aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
For 35 years, National Night Out events have been held across the U.S. This year, an estimated 38 million residents in 16,000 communities are expected to participate, according to the organization.
In Davidson, the police department is teaming up with a variety of community organizations to host the event in Roosevelt Wilson Park, that will feature a dunking booth, face painting and a free raffle for prizes.

Brickhouse Tavern is providing hot dogs and hamburgers, and organizers asks that town residents bring a side dish or dessert to share.
“This year we hope people from all parts of Davidson will join us to celebrate our wonderful community and meet our officers, including several new ones,” Police Chief Penny Dunn said in a statement.

National Night Out in Davidson will take place at Roosevelt Wilson Park, located at 420 Griffith Street, on Aug. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
