Lake Norman Weather Forecast: Warm With Thunderstorms Ahead

Find out when thunderstorms are most likely to roll through the Lake Norman region this week, according to the National Weather Service.

DAVIDSON, NC — It’s going to be week of warm temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms, according to national forecasters.

According to the weather service, scattered-to-numerous thunderstorms are expected across the piedmont of North Carolina on Monday, mostly during the afternoon and evening. And that's going to be the case most every day through Sunday, the NWS says.

Some of those storms could be strong, according to the forecast, with gusty winds, occasional lightning and heavy rainfall that could result in flooding in some areas.

The best chances for rain this week will come Monday and Tuesday, when we're looking at up to 60 percent chance of showers and storms. That chance drops to 20 percent on Wednesday then pops back up to 30 percent on Friday.

Meanwhile, high temperatures should be pretty consistent, ranging from 87 to 91 degrees during the work week. Lows each night are expected to get down into the low 70s.
