Davidson Weekend Weather: Hail Possible Friday

DAVIDSON, NC -- This weekend will be calm and sunny, but we're not out of the woods yet. Tonight, Thursday, we'll see a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the night.

Friday will see showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon, and heavy rainfall is expected in certain areas that will experience thunderstorms.

Saturday and Sunday, however, will be mostly sunny with high temperatures in the 80's.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook, warning of potentially severe thunderstorms on Thursday and severe weather on Friday. Large hail and damaging wind gusts are possible tomorrow.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South southwest wind 3 to 5 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. West southwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. North northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.
