Davidson's Ben & Jerry's Sends Team To Scooper Olympics

DAVIDSON, NC — Davidson's Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop will soon vie for major bragging rights in the "Carolina Classic" Scooper Olympics.

This is the 16th year for the event, which brings four-person teams from Ben & Jerry's shops from North Carolina and Georgia together to compete for the title. Last year, the Davidson team narrowly lost the competition.

"We wanted to incorporate what our staff does every day with friendly competition," Karen Toney, manager of the Davidson Ben and Jerry’s, said in a statement. “ The competition is fierce and the Davidson Team wants to win it back from Foxcroft, the 2019 winner by one point!”

This year's event will take place at the Ben & Jerry's Charlotte ice cream shop at Foxcroft location at 7600 Fairview Road and will include teams from Atlanta, Boone, Chapel Hill, Charlotte and Davidson. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. on March 21.

According to the company, the winners of the competition will be named champions and given an engraved plaque to display in their shop.
