Driver Cited For Speeding More than 50 MPH Over Limit In Davidson
A 22-year-old driver was nabbed doing 87 mph in a 35 zone, police said. Here's a rundown of other crimes reported around town.
DAVIDSON, NC — A 22-year-old driver was nabbed driving more than 50 mph over the speed limit in Davidson this week, according to Davidson Police Department.
No one was arrested last week in town, police said, however there were several crimes reported to police. On Feb. 22, police received a missing person report on Torrence Circle, and on Feb 24, a breaking and entering and larceny was reported on June Washam Road and a case of credit card fraud reported on River Falls Drive.
DPD issued the following citations that require a mandatory court appearance:

- Phinix Casimir Lewis, Jr., 42, was cited on North Main Street Feb. 18 and charged with driving while license revoked and failure to display a tag
- Joshua Cole Watson, 22, was cited Feb. 22 on Shearer Road and charged with careless and reckless driving and speeding 87 mph in a 35 mph zone
DPD issued numerous citations that did not require a court appearance:
- Speeding — 39
- Expired tags — 9
- Expired inspection — 6
- Seatbelt violation — 3
- Red light violation — 1
- Stop sign violation — 1
- No operator’s license — 1
