Davidson Election Results: Knox Voted New Davidson Mayor

DAVIDSON, NC -- On Election Day 2017, voters went to the polls to cast their ballot for a host of municipal leaders, from mayors to commissioners. The results are in and voting has ushered in new leadership in some corners of Mecklenburg County.

In Davidson, that change in leadership begins at the mayor's office. Rusty Knox, Jr. won the post with nearly 57 percent of votes, compared to 26 percent of votes going to incumbent John Woods.

Here’s a rundown of winners from Nov. 7, 2017 election in Mecklenburg County. The winner of each race is in bold, alongside the percentage of the ballot, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections:
