More Storms, Possible Flood Threat For Lake Norman This Weekend
More storms are on the way to the region, National Weather Service forecasters said Friday. Here's when skies could start to clear.

DAVIDSON, NC — Weather forecasts this week have sounded like a broken record: rain, followed by more rain with a thunderstorm chaser. This weekend will be no different, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday morning the flash flood watch lifted, however, the threat of flooding is still a possibility as heavy rains and scattered thunderstorm return to the region this evening, according to forecasters. “Minor flooding of urban areas and rapid rises on streams will be possible where any storms develop and persist. Gusty winds and cloud-to-ground lightning will also be possible,” NWS said in an Aug. 3 advisory bulletin.
Localized heavy rain is possible every afternoon through Sunday, forecasters said.
