Gunfire Reported In Davidson, No Active Shooter Found: Police

DAVIDSON, NC — Reports of an active shooter on the campus of Davidson College Wednesday morning were a false alarm, according to campus police who said there was no evidence that there was a threat.

Students and faculty at the college received a message early Oct. 2 alerting that there was an active threat on campus.

“Davidson College Campus Police received reports of gunfire at the Hurt Hub@Davidson and responded immediately,” said Davidson College Chief of Campus Police Todd Sigler.

“Their investigation found no signs of an active shooter or any other threat, and they issued the all-clear message shortly thereafter,” Sigler said.

“The safety and well-being of Davidson students is our highest priority, and we take all reports of threats seriously,” he said.
